Can some one tell me why its called 'Manual Movie Mode' please. Originally my GH2 came with this and then HBR was added in a firmware upgrade. (HBR I understand.) Manual Movie Mode does not appear to offer much in the way Manual options?
I use Manual Movie Mode, I could be wrong but I have a feeling in other modes the camera could change the ISO when the light becomes darker where in Manual Movie Mode it was locked at the one chosen...
Try the latest hack MJPEG modes from L Powell or Driftwood vs HBR and you'll see that, while a little less detailed, in very low light/shadows, it can be stronger.
HBR is 30fps.
Manual mode, you can shoot true 24/25p. Also you can set the camera to the other special modes like 720 - 60p and 1080 - interlaced as well as HBR.
In manual mode, you have full control over the camera's settings. ISO, Shutter, Aperture.
That - 30p (or, IIRC, 25p in PAL land), 1080 only. Cinema is for 1080p24. Manual Movie is for interlaced 1080(50i/60i) referred to as "FSH" (higher bitrate) or "FH" (lower bitrate), or progressive 720p(50/60) referred to as "SH" (higher bitrate) or "H" (lower bitrate).
Each of those three settings (Manual Movie, HBR, Cinema) allows for full manual control when the camera is set to the "(movie camera)M" mode, or varying degrees of auto function when the camera is set to P/A/S/M/iA modes. At least that's how my NTSC/hacked PAL GH2 works.
Someone really should've written a manual for this camera or something.
