Maliboo - Horrorfest Entry

So what's the deal here, Tommy? When are you shooting? Is this still going to be a post-HorrorFest movie or are you now shooting earlier?

Tom, ya, just sent you a PM saying now they want to charge us $550 for insurance + $150 for the permit for the day. Frak me.. it must be where we were wanting to shoot? Maybe it varies on locations?

Btw, what day are you guys shooting? I wonder if that makes a difference too?

Who's charging 550 for insurance? That's a little steep. I'm sure you can find it cheaper somewhere. What company was it through?

We've moved the shoot to mid-October, so we won't make the contest... but it will be a post-Horrorfest movie... I just wish the deadline was further out for the entry. We plan to make some DVDs and hopefully try and enter a few festivals. One thing we've talked about is renting a theater with a digital projector one night and have a showing for friends and family. :)

Drats!!! Gonna miss you in HorrorFest. But at least you're continuing so we can see it.

Come to find out.. its the same people you are dealing with. Maybe our production just looks bigger or something and all they see are dollar signs.

WHo knows. Frack that though, I don't have $500 so we are just going guerilla. Or... we may have to scrap it all together. :(

So ya, If you talk to that lady again, try to finger a little bit more information from her and see what the deal is. The guy we are dealing with says it was the chodes before us who screwed everything up for everyone else. Maybe cause it was last minute notice or location? This just urkes me. it was up near fawnskin.. the other side of big bear (over the north shore)

Hey Tommy, sorry you are not going to be able to pull this together in time for the festival deadline BUT BETTER TO TAKE THE TIME AND MAKE IT RIGHT!!! I know that you want to be proud of this production.

Just so you know... I've posted a few new pics for you on my thread.

Chat with you soon!

When (if) we actually rent a place with a digital projector, I'll let you know... we'll all kick back and (try to) enjoy it on the big screen... :)

Possible... then again, last week was the Big Bear Film Festival (I believe), so maybe that's screwing things up for ya... how many days is your shoot scheduled for? You know there's a DVX meeting this Saturday... you should try and schedule for a Sunday shoot!

Hey Ted, yeah... we're giving ourselves an extra month... this way we can build a few things (like the crane I mentioned) as well as have a rehearsal session the weekend before the shoot... I want this thing to be the best it possibly can be, and a week to plan and execute the shoot is cutting it a bit too short. It's kind of a good thing that our location fell though!

Heading over to check out your new pics dude...

Our shoot was one day only on Saturday so I'm not sure what happened. DVX meeting? here in LA? Shoot. I didn't know about that. Is it a once a month thing?

/j

Yeah, not an official meeting, more of a get together. I think they try to have one every month... I'll look for the thread for it and pm it to you...

LOL... I'd join you guys if I didn't have to work tomorrow!!

Next up for the film... get out my guitar and start practicing like a madman... I'm gonna grind out some power chords on the soundtrack! :)
