That guy playing the coach... holy crap, he scared the s**t out of us in the audition... we though he was going to kill US!
 
Oh! THAT'S the guy! I remember you saying that! Yeah, he does look scary!

(He doesn't read this does he? Should I change my location in my avatar? Will he find me? Now I'm scared!)

Looking forward to the DIY post! I've looked at a lot of versions and have them bookmarked on my computer if you need any. I also built a small model out of wood to test a few things. Good luck!
 
its a joke... the Jack guy looks like JDS. when he moseys over to this thread he will see it.... haha
 
Thanks Tim. We had a location set up, but it fell through, unfortunately. I had a couple people from here offer to help, but it didn't have the right feel. We're going to rent a cabin up at Big Bear for a couple of days though.
 
Dude, the guy you got for Jack is David Light, right? He was originally going to be in Smuggler's, but some complications came up, and he couldn't make it. Man, the world is small.
 
He didn't actually make it to the audition. We were casting him for a non-speaking role, he had the perfect look for, but plans fell through, and we had to go another direction. He seemed great on the phone, and I am looking forward to seeing him in your film.

So, you're planning on shooting those dates for sure? I bet ya I could make it :) Just to come say howdy at least.
 
That's too bad he didn't make it to the audition... I should play you his audition tape... that guy is intense!!

I've got all the cast lined up for those 2 days and I'll be calling Big Bear tomorrow to set up the filming location and permits.

I'd love to have you come by and give a hand or to visit and see David in action... :)
 
Well, I'll do my best. That Saturday is a week before I begin shooting my next short, but I'll try to make it up there, it's a bit of a drive :) Cool beans... Hey show us some BTS, like the audition tapes :):)
 
Looking forward to seeing your film Tom! and.. of course, i'm curious to see how your adventure fairs you for getting those permits. That was one of our recent roadblocks for our shoot forcing us to postpone from Mon/Tues shoot to shooting this weekend.

Auditions are great!! You so soo many people and you find potentials in everyone even if they are not right for your particular movie. Start building that database of interesting people and one day you'll have your movie all set and cast with minimal efforts. :)

I've been on the phone with Big Bear this morning and the lady just doesn't answer the phone... :angry:

I tried to be as professional as I possibly could during the audition and I think it went over well...

This thing is not going to be that easy to shoot because the acting has to be so believable and I'm just such a perfectionist, but we'll see... I think I'm going to wind up ticking off all the actors! But everytime I tell people that, they say no, it's good that I'm picky... :)
