Making letterbox view on LCD?

I want to shoot in 4:3 and cover up the LCD to give myself an approximate framing for when I do my editing in post. What would you recommend? I'd rather not buy one of those little screens or anything. Do you just tape some paper overtop?

I use thin strips of masking tape...right on the letterbox line, so I can still read the LCD info. I have an LCD screen protector so I'm not worried about the tape doing any damage.

MathewC,
(shameless plug follows)
Screen Skins overlays are available at EVS, B&S and AbelCine in 16x9, 1:85 and 2:35 ratios. Under$5 for a pack of 2. Tape on the LCD screen leaves a "lasting impression" in the form of funky residue that's tough to remove.
You can always make your own if you have the time and inclination by using the right low tack adhesive material...just don't use tape.

Ken,

I can't seem to locate your product at EVS or AbelCine. Is there a more direct link you can provide me?

I'd appreciate it.

hehe, i use rubber bands, and have little markings on the left and right of the screen for 16x9 as well as 2.35:1

Bourbonst61,
I think the order code is "SSDV"...not sure. Call the EVS 800# and ask for Ramsey or Tommy, they'll set you up.
Jarrod at Abel Cine also has them.
Sometimes, smaller accessories don't make it into the catalog.
Hope this helps.

I think I read somewhere that PSP screen protectors fit the dvx lcd perfectly. You can pick those up as Best Buy, etc.
