Making a DVD.

Using Final Cut Pro, editing HDV I have made a sequence and want to make a dvd. I don't want anything fancy, just the easiest way to make a dvd.

What do I do first? Make a quick time movie, and if so what setting do I want to use? What is the reason for making a quick time file, just to change the size? Any help would be greatly appericated.

I have idvd and dvd studio that came with final cut studio. :)

If your sequence is shorter than 90 minutes, you can just export a Quicktime Movie.
Go to "File"\"Export"\ "QuickTime Movie"
Make sure the "Make Movie Self-Contained" box is checked.
Once your movie finishes exporting, you can drop it into an iDVD project and burn.

When I need fancier multi layer menus, I drag my exported .mov file across the network to my VAIO PC and use DVDit Pro 6 to author my DVD. I'm an Apple fan but DVD Studio Pro is very difficult to use and the output to a MAC superdrive is inconsistent.

thanks Randolph, that sounds simple enough. Are you sure I don't need to resize something since it is in HD?

Another question unrelated the previous issue, but has anyone ever had a problem with dvd's skipping when you make them using idvd? On my old mac a lot of the dvd's that I made in idvd would have glitches or what seemed like a skip. I have the 24 inch mac now so hopefully this one will not have the same problem.
