GH13 Major aliasing when converting footage to DVD

I recently shot a film on the GH13. I used a high bit rate 100Mbs, and shot it at 25pN. It looks fine in HD, but I'm burning it to DVD (mp2) now for cast and crew, and I'm finding it extremely aliased. Some detailed scenes the aliasing is so bad, they're barely watchable. I've never really had this problem before with other cameras and the same postproduction workflow. Usually I find SD a good deal softer than HD, but I've never had the aliasing issues. Has anyone encountered similar issues? is it the codec?

Baffled...

Sharper footage probably needs a better downscaling algorithm than the one you might be using.

If you check the max quality box in premiere you will get the better scaling engine with cuda enabled. If you have any motion effects, etc, you may need to render out lossless before downsampling to SD.
But, basically you are losing resolution. Aliasing is often source material related. There are various tricks you can apply, like a tiny change in the angle, and so on, but the export algorithm, as Oedipax mentioned, is important.
