Magnify button on the 5D Mark III - reprogrammable.

Don't have this camera yet, but there seems to be a lot of missing information out there.

Just so you all know:
The magnify button can be re-programmed to the button in the center of the adjustment wheel on the right side.

Canon rep in Paris explained this, so look for the instructions in the manual.

Confirmed. First thing I did. And actually, it's a little bit more comfortable for me than where the magnify buttons were originally.

Sadly they moved the start/stop recording video button off the Set button in the centre of the rear wheel to a separate little button up near the top of the camera like the 7D & you cannot re-program start/stop recording video back to the Set button (which by default does nothing in video mode).

This magnification re program is godsend! Thanks so much for pointing this out. The button on the left is just awkard. I actually like the set button as the magnification better than the top right button from the Mark II.

The magnify button on the left was created for photographers to review their work and blow it up quickly. The rate button above is so that they can make choices. When the wireless transmitter comes out, journalists will be able to review, rate and transmit directly from the field without ever having to touch a computer.
