Magnified viewfinder and audio

So in terms of a better viewfinder for focusing short of getting a separate ikan etc monitor the only options avaipable now are the zacuto and cinevate scopes that attach to lcd correct? Any idea which is better?

As for audio, keeping it simple and using an existing shotgun mic without going out and getting something like the zoom and then dealing with syncing sound, what exactly is the problem with AGC i mean an external mic seems to record but there are no sound levels or controls, if theres a loud noise it will just cut all sound due to the auto gain? And that might be fixed with firmware in future or ML?

I recently had the privilege in meeting Dennis Wood last week in Canada and i can tell you first hand that he has a new product in the pipe line coming real soon that will help you see the picture/video on your 7D easier. I was REALLY impressed in how clear the view screen was and how pleasing it was to the eye. I'm short of words here- sorry. I don't remember what he called it but you can see it in this picture. Scroll down to the second picture post. Product is suppose to be released real soon. I'll see if i can post some extra pics i took as i got to demo the product first hand. I'll clear it with Dennis Wood first before i go posting any pictures here.

i think i meant the cyclops didnt know both cavision and cinevate made something like that. anyone have experience with different ones and could say which one is better due to features? i still dont get how they mount and stay on

Cyclops I think it's called.

There is also the LCDvf:

I really like the sound (and price) of the LCDvf but I'm wary about the fact that it attaches with magnets... Doesn't sit right with me. They have a warning note on their website to consult the manual before use due to the magnets, but they don't include on their website what these "precautions" are.

Does anyone have any idea of the risks or if there are any?

Don't swallow the magnets?

I assume it's precautions about using it as a strict pressure point or walking around with it stuck to your face and whatnot, or rubbing it against your CF cards and possibly risking data loss.

There's warnings on everything, a la using a curling iron in the bathtub, I'm sure this product doesn't emit radiation or something, it's just an eyepiece

Does sound like a clean way to attach sort of like the magnetic door on letus battery comp so theres metal around the glass on the canon or they mean first stick some sort of frame to camera then the scope comes on and off easily with magnets?

sound

you get monster hiss when it is quiet then some one starts speaking and the opening is too loud while it turns the level back down

Lol i must have a defective 7d AGC then because i just tested with my rode and no hiss with quiet then tapped on mic and sounded even will do some more tests

I just got an email from Tonis recently that said in a weeks time or so he will have about 150 units batched for sale, mostly filling pre orders I'm guessing, but that he also has about 600+ that will be ready once those pre orders have shipped.

I guess so. It seems the only difference is a cosmetic ring to match L series red stripes or the gold stripe of the other lenses like the 28mm 17-55mm etc.

I really hope we get some feedback as soon as someone receives one.
