Magic Lantern for 5D mkIII with firmware 1.2.3 now online

..and everything seems to be running just fine!.. both Camera's now running 1.2.3 ML.. thanks ML guys for your hard work and effort, you guys are truly amazing.
 
How does the install happen? Do I first upgrade the firmware to 1.2.3 (I already have ML) and then update ML on the card?
 
As Ted mentioned in another thread, apparantly the bootflag "issue" has been solved. So if you uninstall ML your camera can go back to instant startup time from sleep.
 
Mirroring is pretty big for me. I use an evf and the director has a second monitor but now handheld he can watch off the back and save the weight when he wants to see the framing.
 
I wanted t test 1.2.3 ML.. so installed on my camera's and headed out to a mosque that is near by. Such a amazing building and the people are so friendly and welcoming.. so a great place to relax and shoot for a while. I shot MLV on one camera and Rec_raw on the other. I had a few corrupted files on the MLV card, every frame perfect on the rec_raw camera.

One minor issue I noticed some aliasing on the high-detail carpet, for example- some shots looked softer and were sharpened more? (viewed full screen)

Interesting to hear MLV has issues- did you report on the ML forum? Hopefully they'll fix it ASAP.

Yeah..I noticed the aliasing... I think I it was due to over sharpening the opening sequences...then I pulled right back.. making the image a little too soft maybe. As this was just a bit of fun to test the new firmware, I let it go...
 
I have been carrying out more tests on 1.2.3 and installed the latest 17th March.. Working absolutely perfectly. I was having issues with certain files no rendering, and when they did, there were artefacts and strange goings on with colour rendition... but todays files have been perfect. Im very happy as its a stable as the old 1.3.3ML_Fir
 
Scott beautiful job with the mosque. The detail and clarity of raw video just sucks you into the piece. I'm going to upgrade to 1.2.3 tonight. The ML crew is on fire. Because of the file sizes I'm going to get a GH4 for faster turnaround stuff. But I'm loving raw with the 5d3.
 
I'm on the fence about upgrading firmware, since the nightly build I'm using on old firmware is working just fine. Has anyone here had any stability issues with the versions running on 1.2.3? What about when using the supported Canon features like dual display?
