T2i Magic Lantern for 550D in progress!

I'm going to try downgrading to the magic lantern release that came out yesterday. it seems to have all the same features minus Q scale, I'm going to see if this solves my problem. To change the version of magic lantern running do I just need to replace the autoexec.bin or do I need to delete all those files and reinstall via M>Firmware update?
 
the 1.0.8 requires you to downgrade the EOS firmware (if you already installed 1.0.9) and downgrade the entire ML suite. I had to reformat my card, make it rewritable, and then added the newest autoexec.bin to the mix of folders from the tutorial.

It was worth it though, the new menu system RULES! THANKS ML GUYS!
 
there are no menu's in the 1.0.9 ML release you have to switch to the 1.0.8 or just wait until they add the features and menus to 1.0.9 which they said they would do soon.
 
He is asking if you got the 1.0.8 ML release. There is a 1.0.8 and a 1.0.9 Magic Lantern release. These correlate to the Canon FW you are running. So if you are running 1.0.8 Canon FW, you need ML 1.0.8.

The page has links to both sets of files, so jsut make sure what you install is all the 1.0.8 version.
 
I'm not sure you can switch, though someone on here said they did it so maybe they can tell us. The ML guys seems to think that it is a very dangerous thing to try (and were not quite clear on how to do it), and if you are hesitant that you should wait until they update 1.0.9, but who knows maybe it's not that hard.
 
I can't wait for DDirector to get his working, so I can see how it functions! :)

Anyone do any Qscale testing yet?
 
I'd love to test them out but I didn't look very hard for the canon 1.0.8 firmware and ended up using the 1.0.9 and now I'm stuck I hope they update soon or someone shows us how to revert and put on ML 1.0.8.
 
jsoucy: No, it will not. The way that the 7D is set up makes it almost unhackable.

I have the newest Magic Lantern but I use the 1.0.8 canon firmware

Also, does anyone know how to make an SD card bootable on mac? Like, step by step? I'm having trouble :(
 
Great.. so, I pretty much wasted my time with this? - Now what? I can't downgrade to the 1.0.8 ML as some are saying.
Even if I can, I still got no idea where the file is.

It didn't say anywhere I was using the 1.0.9 ML version until it was too late or that I had to use the 1.0.9 ML version to have the menus. It just said I need the 1.0.8 firmware, which I do have.
UGH!!!!!!!
 
EDIT: nevermind. jumped the gun early there. PHEW! BUT! GOOD NEWS, if histogram/zebra/cropmarks aren't working, press the "preview" button (triangle inside of the square parallel from trash can under the dial) and that gets them to show up.
