T2i Magic Lantern for 550D in progress!

I'm getting some SD card behavior that I don't understand. I have two 16GB class 10 cards of differing brands. One will record at about 96mbps max without audio and 56mbps max with. The other will record at about 80mbps max without audio and 62mbps with. Is this a possible issue with Magic Lantern or is it something with my card. I'm using the May 25 build.

All class 10 cards are not equal, so its a brand issue most likely

^I don't have my camera at hand, but I know it's easy, just go to the ML menu and activate it; if in doubt, go to the manual

That's what I did - but I didn't find a menue point called "focus peaking" or simular.

what build are you running?

On another note would it be possible to add lower iso values? Im thinking it could be very helpful when shooting in direct sun when you dont have ND filters handy or at all. I just remember shooting stills on kodachrome 64 years back and i know the 5d can drop down to 50 iso.

Just wondering if it was possible. thanks!

Reverting back from ML?

Reverting back from ML?

I want to install Magic lanterns for my T2i but may end up selling it someday as I upgrade. Is it possible to go back to canon 1.09 firmware , or Magic lanterns on your camera forever once you install it?

Forever always coca-cola... until you uninstall it :)

Or maybe you could show to the buyer what your camera can do with ML.

ISO 50 is not possible, sorry.

The latest version, at least for me, seems just about perfect. The amount of features is simply staggering. THANK YOU ALL WHO WORKED ON IT!! I made a $100 donation.

One UI suggestion: make a menu option to reverse the action on the shutter wheel. (Make the shutter change when using AV+- as a shift key, and aperture change when used alone). Reason: In video mode we rarely change shutter. Thus it makes sense to give priority to changing aperture easily.

Better yet, make the modifier sticky, (could be Q) so that one doesn't have to hold the button while turning the wheel, which is the really awkward.

Thanks! I didn't receive it yet, maybe because it's weekend.

I've tried to change both things, without much success. So far, I was able to make the ISO sticky (but not without side effects), and to change the aperture when wheel is used alone and shutter speed is not at one of the extremes. May be possible, but I can't give a time frame.

Alex,
I made the donation through the wiki. It says the money was transferred to Tramm Hudson. I hope there is a single donation account.

Thanks for trying. I don't expect anything. But i hope that last wrinkle will get ironed someday.

Just figured out a cool magic zoom trick: before recording, move the white box with the four arrow keys to whatever you need to keep in focus. Then, when you're recording, the magic zoom will zoom in on that area instead of the middle of the frame, and the magic zoom frame will also be directly over the focus subject. Sorry if this has been discovered before, but this makes magic zoom even MORE helpful.

i always have trouble locating the newest builds, sometimes i can see them on vimeo, and somestimes i cannot. right now, i have 5/25 build, is that the newest?

feature request: two sets of presets for zebra parameters
(maybe it's done already, I'm not using the latest build)

this weekend I did my first shoot with both Technicolor and regular picture styles (some sunny-and-shadows shots with Cinestyle, for the rest a regular picture style), and changing from one to the other was some bit of a pain because I had to modify my zebra values

it would have been much easier if I could switch from "luma A" to "luma B" to "RGB A" to "RGB B" and have, say, "6,249" already stored on "RGB A", and "17,245" on "RGB B"

+1

That's the reason I DON'T work with CineStyle. just too much to tweak, and tweak back.

I just shot this Friday a clip with ML and MarvelsCine... and what can I say... it was marvel(ou)s :)

But, yes... it would be nice if a ML preset could hold a whole set of settings, therefore making the transition to CineStyle much easier.
