Magic Lantern enables 14-bit RAW CinemaDNG on 5D

In fact it's a good question, as their site is full of info but opaque.

Right, and if you ask a question that was answered on a page 12 from countless threads months ago, you get a big slap on your wrist for being unable to find the answer on your own.
Never waste a geek's time.

Some of the new mods are a little overzealous, I've given up beating my head against a brick wall trying to advise them. Most of the admins and mods are cool.

Ok, here are some links that will direct you to camera specific threads.
Note that the first posts on these threads are constantly updated for the latest nightly build. Just check on them regularly.
You may also want to follow the issues regarding current builds by going to the last posts in the discussion threads, but eventually once the issues for the day are addressed the first post links are usually updated.

I will also copypaste the disclaimer they posted on the thread in the ML forum:

These builds are 'unofficial', in that they are not provided by the Magic Lantern Development team. The entire raw recording thing is bleeding edge, so it's not yet included in the official nightly builds.

These builds may contain enhancements that are not reviewed by the Magic Lantern team. The build maintainers must point out the changes they have made, compared to the official repo.

These builds are linked here for the sole purpose of making them more accessible. It is the user's responsibility to understand the risks and review the code before running it on their camera. If anything goes wrong, we (the Magic Lantern development team) don't pay for repairs.

While A1ex, g3ggo, 1% and other ML developers are key in making the core code components and putting them in the "official repo" other coders are also gracious enough to compile for us the nightly builds for specific cameras, and in some cases add "unofficial" features to certain cameras. Some of these unofficial features eventually find their way to the official repo.

For the 5D3, look out for posts by LOURENCO as he's the one compiling the nightly builds for the 5D3.

For the 5D2, look out for posts by A.d. as he's the one compiling the NB for the 5D2.

Note that these developers do these things on their own time so some cameras/features get updated faster for some camera models than others.

I read that ML for 5d mk3 requires a SD card smaller than 16 GB when installing ML, I've got a 64 GB SD and 32 CF, and rather not buy a new card at around 8 or 16GB that I will never use besides installing. So are there any workarounds?

Edit: I went out and got a 4GB card, just to install ML, worked like a charm.

I disagree about most of them being cool. I'm going to be very blunt. The leaders in the development of ML firmware are not good people. They are not nice guys you would want to hang around with and have a beer. They are in it for their own glorification, Internet fame, and the perks like free cameras bought with donations. These guys, (not just the one who takes most of the credit) have done amazing work. But the general attitude at the ML forum, starting from and driven from the top, reminds me of a 12 year-old with narcissistic personality disorder, in an ego driven nerd rage.

There is no sense of community. Its more of a dictator to peasant mentality. They don't take suggestions. They don't answer questions. They don't want to hear about it if they don't think it is important. They leave things unfinished for years. The whole thing is so unprofessional and disorganized that it is truly shocking they have accomplished much of anything.

I follow the magic lantern forum and i disagree they are 12 year-olds. I think they just get annoyed by people asking the same thing over and over without reading before had what is already possible. People sometimes hypothesize when the mods are trying to get actual productive discussion and it tends to clog the forum. I know for me i have to read through a lot of crap to just find actual info that helps me.

Komputerbay 1050x cards now on Amazon... unfortunately only the 128gb version. The 64gb will be available in november according to Amazon item listing.

Benchmarks posted on ML forum shows the 1050x are a tad faster than the 1000x.

Amazon UK

EDIT:::::: I just tried ordering from the UK site shipped to Denmark... couldn't be completed. Then I tried ordering from the US site and that resulted in a huge shipping handling fee (almost doubling the price of the card...), SO BEWARE when ordering to EU adress from the US store!

I had bought one a time ago and it crashed within one day.
My college bought 2 and they both crashed.

All three where not to repair, format or anything. Just dead.

Seems this is a problem in the 128gb, seems the 64gb is a better choice.
