I'm at wits end here... Every time I go into the ML menu through the trash can shortcut to adjust the aperture, I select aperture then hit the set button and I'm only capable of going from 1.8 down to 22... I can't reverse and once I hit 22.whatever it was, the Live View continuously fades to white and back over and over again and I have to power cycle the camera to start over... Is there a shortcut I'm missing here this is driving me bonkers. Aperture in the manual just says "Sets the aperture" it doesn't say which buttons do it, etc.
 
Can you not just adjust the aperture the same way you did without ML? I never go into the ML menu to adjust aperture, I see no advantage.

On the T2i, the play button adjusts items the opposite direction of the set button in the ML menus, don't have a T3i with me at the moment to check if it's the same.
 
Set is up, Play is down on a T3i for all ML controls. As nothing pointed out, it's way faster to simply hold down the AV button and roll the wheel to adjust aperture.

jesus, good call guys haha. For some reason I had the impression that ML took over the canon way of setting things... Should have done the obvious and just tried the canon settings hahaha. Thanks!
