Magic Bullet noise...

After using Magic Bullet on a clip and forgetting to also apply it to a similar clip I noticed that the MB clip seemed to produce a lot of noise in the picture. Anyone else had this problem?

If you're seeing noise, it's your frame, not MB, MB just makes it more noticeable.
One thing you can do to reduce noise, is to use the Median plug, set to light noise reduction, but I recommend setting it back just a tad from the default.
Also, there is Mike Crash' DeNoiser, which works very, very well. Additionally, you can reduce the luminance of the MB filters, which will then pull noise down.

Whoah, Spot! Where do you find this DeNoiser plug-in?? Cost?

I'm using the free sample edition which just gives you about 10 'looks'. You can't edit them, only one slider that alters the percentage. Thanks for your help guys.

Yeah, something's definately wrong with that site, as it took about 5 minutes for the vegas page to load, which simply had one link/text on it. When you click to save the zip file to your system, it's only 390kb, and currently stating it'll take 6+ minutes to download (on broadband). I'm expecting to get the same error. If I don't, I'll let you guys know, and maybe just make it available on my server for download.

If anyone else has it, please let us know.

EDIT: Now in excess of 2 hours to download, only pulling down 57 bytes a second.

I tried the Mike Crash de-noiser and smoothing plug-ins; they crashed Vegas 4.0e after a few uses. Removed them and all was well again.
I used them both on some shots, but really preferred the smoothing filter (if it had only been stable on my system).

Hope this helps.

Hmm...I'm not having problems downloading, nor with using the filters. I use a couple of his filters fairly regularly. Maybe try again?

Can't seem to download the bugger. Hmm.

Are these filters anything that can be made available on the Vasst site? Or is it something that could be e-mailed? I've got some noise (mostly in the dark areas, not edge/chroma noise) that I'd like to see if I can get rid of. By using a denoiser filter, will it also soften the rest of the image though? We used a 35 Adapter, which already softens things some, so further softening is of no interest to me.
