Magenta flares, Has anyone seen THESE ? (examples)

I get these strange magenta colored flares/ghosts when letting a strong light source hit the lens. These don't seem like normal lens flares.
Im using the 20/1.7 and some voigtlander lenses. All are doing it..

I actually think it's pretty cool looking, but if somethings messed up then I'd like to know..!

In a word, no. I'm curious to know if these were all shot with the same lens? Are you using a filter? It looks like a lens coating, or filter coating, causing the tint to the flare.

The first is with the new 20/1.7 w/no filter the others are with a Voigtlander 28/1.9 which does have a B+W skylight filter.. But it happens without it too.

OK, I went out shooting today with the express purpose of trying to reproduce this, and I pretty much succeeded. I could only get a magenta flare with a Sunpack UV filter. When I took it off, I couldn't get much flare at all. This is all with the kit lens and no lens hood. I had to put the sun in-frame to get flare. I tried shooting the sun off-axis, but I couldn't get flare. Note that one of the images is almost completely magenta.

When there are extremely bright sources on the edge of frame it is possible to get a divergent internal reflection. That internal reflection is hitting the filter stack, bouncing forward to the rear element of the lens and then bouncing back into the sensor. In my experience, magenta flare becomes prominent when the IR filter layer in the stack gets whacked with such a reflection. There are ways to overcome such a problem with internal baffling, a different (more effective) IR filter, anti-reflective coatings and less reflective "black" inside the sensor cavity. These generally need to be addressed by a manufacturer. I'm not sure how close that 20mm rear element is to the filter stack, but it might be easier to get that flare with that lens.
