MacBookPro

Check out the refurbished prices at Apple, good discounts lately and full Applecare can be applied.

go to the Apple store and ask for the open box or ...they have another term for it but its basically a returned box but with full warranty for few or several hundred less.

honestly there is nothing better than refurbished store. my apple monitor 23 HD inch, mac book 13 inch and i pod touch are all refurbished and look brand new. you can get apple care on it just like brand new so why get a new one

Well, technically, you don't HAVE to pay tax, but you're SUPPOSED to pay tax. The reason they don't charge sales tax is because when you order something from out of state, by law, you are supposed to claim the purchase and pay state sales tax in your own state.

Obviously, most people never do and also never get caught, but if you happen to be running a video business (which I am) and this purchase would show up on your capital assets, you are taking a real risk.

Another company I work for with just got nailed for this and had to pay thousands of dollars in back sales tax for equipment purchased online.

I just bought a 15" from apple.com - the refurbished section. 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, DVD/CD SuperDrive, 256MB Video Ram, all for $1650 - the same price as the Amazon deal at 2.2 and 120GB drive. The computer is beautiful! You'd think it came fresh from the factory floor. Came with everything you'd get with a new macbookpro.
