Efexone Well-known member Aug 28, 2011 #1 Considering getting a 13" i7 Air to replace my thinkpad T61 for mobile editing. Specs seem good enough. I'm in it more for portability then raw power. most field work I do is usually on the lighter side anyway. Any thoughts?

G Gary Huff Carbonite Member Aug 28, 2011 #2 Do yourself a favor and spec it out as high as it will go. It'll be a bit pricy, but worth it in my opinion. EDIT: Just checked, and really all you can get is the i7, 4GB, and a 256GB SSD. That'd be the specs I would get.

He has been using a MacBook Air for FCS. http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?230811-Will-the-Macbook-Pro-Do-Enough-for-me-with-FCP It does depend on the codec, but the Air can apparently handle quite a bit.
