Just used the HVX for the first time today. We recorded onto 2 P2 8Gb cards. When I connect the camera to my friend's powerbook (via firewire and usb), I can't get the computer to recognize the camera. In the menu, I have gone to Menu>other functions:
1394 control>both
PC Mode>1394 device
I change the mode back to vtr mode, and can't get the computer to recognize the camera. The System profiler recognizes it as "AG-HVX 200", but the P2 cards don't mount (nor does the Disk Utility recognize the drives). The P2 card lights are solid green and the "PC Dub" light is not lit. The camera is in P2 mode, and I can play back the clips perfectly.
I also tried to import via iMovie, but had no luck. I can't control the camera from iMovie. When I play the clips from the camera, iMovie stops it and says that "the camera is sending half-sized frames," which iMovie can't use.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! We need to get this project done by the morning. I'm going to try it on my G5 at home.
