m42 to mft mount for k3 lens?

I have a K3 with the stock lens collecting dust and researched about using it on my gh2 since its a fast zoom. People say to have some that are 1.9, Ill have to double check mine as its been so long, being that fast seems unbelievable.

Has anyone come across a mount adapter to fit that lens to a gh1/gh2. The flange distance seems like its too much for the adapters ive seen online. Are there any deeper ones?

Is your K3 the bayonet mount version, or the screwmount? If screwmount, you could use that lens on a GH2 using a Pentax Screwmount M42 adapter. But it would only be useful in the ETC mode; it won't come anywhere near close to filling the whole frame in regular mode.
 
its the screw mount. Heres a couple pics showing how deep it goes into the body. Im not sure if some of the adapters im seeing are that deep.

Another question though for you Mr Green (its my first time talking to you so i thought id be polite) if you dont mind, i was hoping to get some 16mm lenses for my gh2 because of the etc but im also planning on getting an af100 but does that have an etc mode or can use the 16mm lenses? Im sure this has been answered before somewhere else but since i have you here...



 
The Zenit lens will probably mount on a GH2. The GH2 has no mirror, so there's nothing to worry about it bumping into; it really depends on your M42 adapter.

But no, it would be useless on the AF100. The AF100 doesn't have the ETC mode, and a 16mm zoom lens is just going to result in a great big black vignette around a circle of illumination.
 
Thanks for taking the time. Ill just try my luck with the longest one i can find. Maybe even combine adapters for more space as i need a nikon adapter too.

I found your thread on why the af100 cant have ETC, little bit of a downer. Theres some c mount glass i would have picked up but ill have to pass on it if i cant use it on both.

ETC is only possible if you also admit aliasing as a possibility. Eliminate aliasing, and you also eliminate the prospect of ETC.

Which is why I'm getting an AF100 as my A-camera, and getting a GH2 as my B-camera. That way I can have both! :D

I have the same K3 and a GH2 on order. Can you please tell me if you tried the lens adapter -and how it went?

Meteor 5-1, 1.9/17-69. Tele and wide ends, iris open, shot on GH1 in square frame mode, as is, no reframing. Closing iris won't give you more coverage, just will make the image circle sharper. So, it won't cover full m4/3 sensor and will cover ETC area.

I can reshoot it with GH2, but it will be same situation.

I'll be using ETC mode anyway - so now I finally have a use for all this brand new Russian Glass!
Hard to tell if the images themselves will be all that great. ( I tried a crop). But I'll have another fast lens to experiment with.
