Umm hello, just noticed this on the manual "When [Rec Format] is set to [AVCHD] or [MP4], [0-255] in [Luminance Level] will switch to
[16-255]."

So I guess that means the camera does not records 0-255 in MP4 and AVCHD...:embarasse?
The weird thing is that the camera never mentions anything changing when I use 0-255 with MP4...

Yes, that is what Im wondering. (I have the same) But why does the menu state 0-255, when the manual says its not possible? Is it possible that when in the menu its shown as 0-255 but at the time of the recording it is 16-255 and when you end recording you see the chosen 0-255? Like if in case you would use MOV.

Can anybody clarify what is the deal here. Is the menu lying or the manual?

There is MP4 and MP4 (LPSM), so maybe it is only in the more basic Mp4 with the compressed audio that also doesn't allow 0-255. Never checked it out, but now I will.

I think the lower bitrate AVCHD (28Mbs or lower) does not have 0-255. 50Mbs and higher has 0-255 (MP4 or MOV). I must check too.

I now tried and recorded with th eregular MP4 (no LPCM), still the menu shows 0-255.
Anybody checked the info of the clips on the laptop?
Im not computer savy enough, whenever I loaded the different clips to adobe, I did not know how to check what the luminance levels were. The fast color corrector always shows 0-255, even when I recorded with 16-235.

bet the manual is just wrong. it happens. I've had no prob using 0-255, but I stay in the highest quality modes to shoot.
