I agree. Hasnt done much since, well STAR WARS. 1977.

Empire rocked and Jedi just began the era of lameness. Now American Grafitti and THX are pretty cool but not OMFG its AMAZING. Just cool.

I know LUCAS came up with the story for RAIDERS but............ Anything else Im missing? Oh yeah, the epicness that was TUCKER :-/ :P

I think it's burned into my mind to love all the Star War films...every time I see Episode 1 or 2, I think "Well...that wasn't that bad"...then I put in the VHS original star wars...and I think "Why did I even buy 1 and 2" :D

So true so true. I own PART 1 and my 4 year old watches it. But he doesnt know any better at this age. Like, he doesnt know ass from grass. Know what I mean?

Man, the first STAR WARS is like a perfect movie. Its like the new ones are too much CGI, too many fake CGI backgrounds and not enough of what STAR WARS was which had a real dirty feel to it. SW just felt raw and dirty and hardware like.

Lucas sucks.

Him changing **** in his movies is like when people were talking about taking the world trade center out of movies that they were in. NONSENCE! why does he have to rewrite history? wasnt it not to long ago when lucas film wouldnt let a film festival screen the original version of star wars? in 50 years there will be almost no trace of the originals left. if he is going to rework these movies, he should at least offer the originals as an option on the disc, matte lines and all!. maybe he should spend the time and money on making an original movie again before he dies. what an ahole. all that we can hope is that when he passes away, that one of his kids, has the sence to re-release the originals. although, he will probably have it in his will to not let that happin. anyway, not sayin i want the guy dead, just sayin, that he is messin up what is now OUR movie.

lol tahts so true, my dad has the trilogy on laserdisc, maybe I'll just inheret that.

although now I'll have to find a working LD player, eek

Just to reinforce my point though, its like it might get to the point where he'll do that same thing to the SE editions. He'll work on it more and then blacklist all previous editions.

He's even reissuing Episode 1 with changes made, like replacing puppet yoda with completely CGI yoda... WHY THE **** WOULD YOU DO THAT!!!

Jesus Christ, dude, why replace an awesome, articulated, emoting, acting puppet (a real life thing on set) with a fake ass weightless CGI piece of **** ! ? ! ? ! ? ! ? ! ? !

So I'm thinking of starting a website, along the lines of Boycott Episode 3. And it will be just a general call to arms, everyone who wants the original trilogy, untouched on DVD, should not show up at the premiere, not have the huge lines with people in costume. Send Lucas a message.

I don't think it will work though.

I think steve is a geniune filmmaker and will salvage as much as indy as possible. It wont be as good as raiders but they have to be way more politically correct nowadays (no more evil asians for the indy to fight). Lucas has 1 huge franchise and it has gone to his head, steve has had multiple successes so he knows what works a lot more than george, so again indy may not be bad, ep3 is going to suck donkey balls though.

Word has it that Frank Darabont was penning it, finished it, Spielberg loved it, Lucas hated it and fired Darabont.

Don't know if this is true, but I heard that they added a shot of a bunch of cheering Jar Jars to the end of Jedi on the DVD. Personally, if I were going to alter those movies, I'd have Leia lose her bikini top on Jabba's barge.

It's funny how everyoneis bashing Lucas and saying how much they hate him or whatever

But the fact is...if it wasn't for Lucas, you wouldn't have Star Wars in your life period.
