LTM Peppers and bad cords.

Although great little fresnels, seems like they are prone to going bad at the switch or inlet. I need to remedy an inlet. Anyone come up with a rugged fix/replacement for this pesky weakness?

I've got some old small-body fresnels with the same problem; there's usually a rubber grommet that dries up and comes loose.

On my speedotron strobes, they use those locking-grommet things, hard plastic that snaps together - trying to find some of those.

For in-line switches, you can find somewhat beefy inlines up to 3 amps or so (found some on Amazon) that should be OK for up to 300 watts (I use them on 150's). Problem is, the wire of the lamp may be too thick for the switch housing. Richard at Cool Lights sells awesome in-line switches, but they are BIG. He also sells fiberglass heat-wrap for wiring inside the fixture.

When you rehab lights like these, you need to make sure everything is properly grounded; that wires won't melt due to heat; that wires can't get frayed on any sharp edges; and that switches and plugs are properly installed (I got a hell of a shock on set this spring; had a used fresnel that it turns out someone had replaced the switch. The ground ended in the switch housing, and one of the screws had pierced the insulation of the hot wire. I grabbed the in-line switch and BZZZZZZT... ouch!)
