LP or SP

I read that you should only shoot in the LP mode when using the DVX. Is that true? Does anyone know why? Thanks

lol.. SP.. never shoot LP.. in fact many pro decks wont even read LP tapes.

LP is not so bad per say... I'd never use it while shooting something important, but if you're just experimenting, it's an economical way to shoot. You'd still be getting the same quality, the only problems are that there's more chance of dropouts and different cam/deck companies often use different methods for LP recording, which is why LP tapes will not playback in a different brand cam/deck from what the tape was shot on.

I dont know.. $5 for a 60 minute tape is economical enough for me.

I guess though, now that I am using the quicksream to go straight to disk, LP mode as a "backup" might be worth a try.

Hehe, I've paid $3/tape (when I buy in boxes of 100) and I still use LP when mucking around
