LP-E8 batteries

Remind me, is it possible to charge off-brand (aka "pirate") batteries in the Canon charger? (the ones for t2i, 600D etc)

I know it doesn't work with the 5dmk2 batteries, but if I remember it correctly it does work with LP-E8.

yes i had cheap copy b frrom china, worked great entire 4 years ( sold 550d recently)and was as good as canon original battery

They work and are cheap, but some fail after a while. I have a 3rd party battery for my 60D that lasted a year then suddenly the camera can't read it.
I now have 2 batteries 3rd party for my 600D working for a year fine. Never know I guess.
