Low tripod

Just a quick post to see if anyone can recomend a decent low priced small tripod for low angle stuff. It doesnt have to extend up for normal use, I already have a good full size tripod. I am looking for something compact and that can be spread close to the ground for low angle shots. Also something with the durability to hold an indislider mini with the gh1.

but even if it says it's a video tripod, it's not because there's nothing holding the legs together at the bottom so forget it if you want to have a slider on it (actually I'm not even sure I can remove the head). If you put some more weight on it with your hands the legs go farther apart.

i have one of these, and have used it with an HVX, d300, and many other devices... does a good job, but certainly no fluid head

I got this one and is excellent. The legs collapse and goes really low. You can also take the head with the tube section out, tilt the head all the way to the side put the camera on and use it like an over the shoulder stabilizer rig. Grab the handles for perfect stability. It is also very light for travel.

I have a Velbon Ultra Maxi-L. It's a low tripod when you flip out the legs. Small and lightweight.

the miller solo legs are pretty good, and can go very low. but they are somewhat pricey.

I got a gorillapod with ballhead. But this only applies to smaller lenses like GH1 stock lens.
