BARRY! Why the camera has too low sensitivity of a microphone: internal, and sensitivity of input for the external??

I am also curious of AC160 sound feature. Did you record the sound with auto function? I would be happy if the camera has a good capability of auto-level sound recording like almost sony cameras. Thanks!

I tried to record sound with auto and manual function and had similar results. (Low sensitiv of a microphone input)

You can adjust the audio inputs in a number of ways...there are mic/line level switches on the audio controls, there are also phantom power switches (if you microphone requires it) and there are settings for mic sensitivity in the camcorder menu as well. Be sure you've got your camera set up properly for your microphone and you should be okay.

Perhaps if you uploaded a short example clip that illustrates this problem that you are having, people here could better understand what you are experiencing.

I have not noticed anyone else report a sound level problem. You appear to be experienced and knowledgeable, and have settings on your camcorder set appropriately. I cannot think of any mistake in settings that could cause this, as you seem to have already checked the appropriate ones.

This is a difficult problem. I hope that you can find a solution short of having to ship it to Panasonic service to have the camcorder examined.

This problem is visible at comparison of two cameras 154 and 160.
Eventualy it isn't an objective problem, and only my subjective perception at comparison 154 and 160.
And this situation may be corrected at video editing.
But I am not lonely in the my subjective opinion.
This problem is "violently" discussed at our russian forum.

I know of the Panasonic HMC150, but I am not familiar with the 154.

Are any of the veteran videographers here familiar with that camcorder??

What about a comparison between the 150 and the 160 regarding sound input? Can anyone comment about that?

why do you say this? Is there a missing post, or are you being facetious?

Anyway, Uran, can you tell us more about the situation you're encountering? What are the settings, what kind of signal are you feeding the camera, what levels do you see on the HMC vs AC130 for the same input, etc?

It's a non-US version. Outside the US, different regions usually have a slightly different designation. I believe the Euro version of the HMC150 is the HMC151, and so the HMC154 might be an Asian or Russian designation. Different languages and video standards, and probably something to do with trade regulations I would assume.

I apologise for introduction in mislead.
I have just tested external microphone Edirol CS-50. I am satisfied by sensitivity of an external input+Edirol CS-50. I even lowered sensitivity from -60db to -40db
I remove question about external input, but the built-in microphone at all hasn't reserve on sensitivity.
