Low Mode Top Handle - What are my options besides Red Rock?

I don't have $560 to give RedRock for a top handle and don't want to attach anything to my hotshoe. Any ideas?

Do a search for "camcorder handle" at Amazon, they have a couple of cheap handle things. Or you could go the PVC route and just build something.

The main issue with most of those handles is it blocks the onboard monitor at the back. I need something that comes around on the side. I'd like something more secure than PVC. I have a spiderbrace I was try to use for a should mount but its just not stiff enough and doesn't feel solid at all.

The aesom aerospace cage has been seen around these forums. it's less than half price from redrock, and is great for low mode. You need to supply short rods and a plate. But these can be gotten easy.
