Low bitrates on GH13

Hello everybody . Not a long time ago i get my GH1 , then i hacked it , but i can't see a lot of difference actually , my bitrates jumps between 9000kbps to 22000kbps an AVCHD mode and just a little bit up in MJPEG . And all that with 75mbps hack installed . So what is the problem ? I searched the forum and didn't find any answers yet .

Why focus on bitrate? Focus on image and motion quality: did it improve? If answer is no, then don't hack... Al

Static scenes, especially indoors, with low detail have low bitrates unless you use the Rigs patch or several other patches that are set up differently.

its a variable codec so if your scene figures it requires only 22 then it will record at 22. wave it around abit or change to a complex scene and it will peek accordingly to avoid mud artifacts when surprising the codec. this is generally what the patch on the gh1 addresses, eliminating mud.

Thank you all . Well , video looks pretty good , but what i understand , high bitrates = good quality , that why i wanted to check my bitrates , can't see a lot of difference from stock GH1 , but that may be just because my little experience in that field . And yes i allmost tried it in static scenes . What about light ? More light - higher bitrates ? I tried it with 2.8f lens and 2.0f , second one did better .

220 will be too much to me i think , i have class 10 card , but not so good actually , i guess it'll crash every second .

220 is just a whimsical number. I shoot highly detailed daylight scenes, and average 38mb/sec. Sometimes you will see spikes into the 90mb/sec range.
My Kingston 16GB Class 4 handles this patch just fine. But, that particular card is actually quite fast(20MB/sec read, 12MB/sec write). Also, I have not had one crash-yet.

The awesome Rigs patch will override the codec and give you you higher--very high--bitrates. Even my lowly Concert and Event patch will bump up the rates. At a certain point you won't see a big difference, but going from 12-15 to 22-24 (my patch, file spanning) or 32-40 (Rigs, indoors, static) makes a difference.

I did some tests on Rigs patch, and it crash every moment on FHD mode in grass tests with 47mbps , HD is more stable but low bitrates , MJPEG very stable . I use 32gb class 10 Kingston card .
