F3: Loupe for a PIX 240?

I'm wondering if anyone has ever seen or knows of a loupe that can be used on the PIX 240?
Using the PIX on my rig the other day I realized that if there was such a thing, or something that could be rigged as a loupe, it would kill two birds with one stone. There's already magnet fixings on the 240 that allow the sunscreen to mount.
An EVF and onboard recorder, probably a fruitless dream……..

Well the Munz thing didn't work out. I sent inquiries, got one response, probably would have ordered one but the contact just faded away…..
Then a friend pointed me in the direction of the GRID, ( http://www.gridaccessories.com/products/ ), and I ordered one a couple of weeks back. Today it arrived.
While it doesn't fit the PIX well, ( I think it's primarily designed for the RED LCD ), it's close enough. The buttons on the PIX are a little more difficult to use, but not impossible. The trade off is that there's no need for an EVF to hang off of the camera rig too, the PIX is the external recorder and acts as the EVF now. The loupe snaps on/off easily, it's magnetically mounted and although it hasn't an adjustable diopter I find that I can see/focus ok whilst wearing glasses, ( +2.50 "reading glasses" ).
At around a couple of hundred bucks delivered it's an inexpensive solution.

Out of interest might want to check out the P+S Technik Viewfinder Hoods for 5 to 5.6" screens. I have seen them on a TVLogic Monitor and on a C-D Gemini Recorder and it is really good but these diopter snoots were purpose made for these screens they were on. Really pricey but it is a case of getting what you pay for.

Thanks Andrew, and yes I was aware of the P+S Technick loupe. I was in contact with them a few weeks ago and although they didn't have a mount for the PIX they said that they'd be interested in looking to see if they could do that.
They then asked if I'd be willing to loan them my PIX for a few days so that they could measure the device and evaluate the possibility of making a mount……I said sure, if they'd arrange pick-up / shipping, no problem…..But have heard nothing since from them.

The GRID is ok, maybe a stop-gap solution, maybe not. We'll see. But so far so good.

However wouldn't it be great if someone like Sound Devices or Convergent Design, ( are you listening Mitch? ), could in fact come up with a compact EVF that doubles up as an onboard external recorder? The screen wouldn't need to be large as the loupe would do the work, and now recording mediums are getting compact so the whole thing shouldn't need to be a "lump" on a camera anymore….

It's about time that something like that was out there, and something that could be used on a variety of cameras, not just unique to one.
