Loud noise

Hi, I just got my Canon 7d last night. Had a quick question about when you turn the camera on then into movie mode is it suppose to make a loud clunky noise?

Also, where have you found a HDMI cable that fits the output of the 7D?

Does it sound like the shutter when you take a still? The mirror has to lift up for movie mode/live view. If its louder then that, then I dont know.

It makes a "clunky" noise on my cam. It is not really loud though.

Depending on how one looks at it…yes it’s a loud clunky noise.

Since I'm hearing something similar on my new 7D I just wanted to clarify. Is this noise continuous while the camera is in movie mode? It's basically an ongoing mechanical sounding noise that isn't present when in still mode. You can hear it in the audio recorded by the camera mic (not that I plan on using this anyway).

Is that what we're talking about here? And am I right to assume this is normal?

Just wanted to make sure.

Nevermind, I believe I found my answer. Apparently it's caused from the IS of the kit lens.
