I had a shoot at the weekend that was suppose to be shot in hd but my firestore refused to boot up
so we shot in dv but the image is quite noisey
I shot 25p scene f5 cine v but there appears to be quite a bit of noise ?

can anybody shed some light?

Many Thanks

There was plenty of light i was shooting outside!!!
unless the sun was on the blink

when you say optimized for shooting with less noise?

There was no gain added

I don't have an HVX but I have been on a recent quest to clean up my DVX's image. Search the HVX forums here as there are plenty of threads about which gama settings etc, to use for the least amount of noise.

Thanks for the input ben but i would have thought that by using the settings under a scene file would still give pretty good results?

There has definatley been a bit of a learning

They do, for specific conditions. But there are obviously huge differences between shooting a well-lit scene where noise isn't a problem, and shooting a street scene at night. If there was one single setting that worked under all conditions, then our camera's wouldn't have all of these wonderful settings that can be adjusted.
