Lost at Sea

Frakk! Firefox crashed and there went my review, so you guys are getting a shorter one.

Loved this movie. The rapid de-evolution into absudity was brilliant and for it to get even more and more ridiculous... sheer comedic genius. You guys know how to make a comedy LOOK good and to make it funny. Here's a quoatable from me to you :

This film COMPLETELY brings the funny! Watch it NOW!

"F*ck it! Action!" Oh, yeah... been there, done that.

Very funny.

Disclaimer: I'm not normally a fan of comedies, I don't think I've ever rented a comedy... yet, ironically, my two favorite films of Lossfest, of all things, are, surprise, comedies!

Well done!

I saw your thread before and after watching your short I went back to check the original poster.

What can I say, the whole thing caught me by surprise and I laughed my ass off.

MattinSTL and Lawsuit_Boy:
I love that you guys have given him the title "AC"
I think we all thought of him as the Grip.
Morgan Pritchard is his name, and he's a dream.

EDIT: I stand corrected. Apparently I was the Only one thought this.

For the record... read my original post... I called him grip/slate.

Then a "proper" crew member came along and called him the AC... and I had to start calling him that also so I didn't sound like a yokel.

I did "PA" for Mtv Cribs here in STL and I chose, ran, rigged, and set up all the lights. How is that PA? Um... yeah... whatever. (My cam op told me to just smile and go with it.)

"Don't Ask. Tell."

C'mon... these are dudes I could hang out with... I changed my signature as a tribute to this flick.

I absolutely love this piece... I'm writing this and I'n only 2 mins in.... I'll finish and continue...

Wow...

I haven't laughed this hard at a short film in a long time... seriously, one of the funniest short films I have ever seen period. I just about died when the power went.. and then I suspected the camera but still it was friggin hilarious... and also funny because crap like this does happen. Maybe not in such a horrific way and not all at once, but they happen!

Concept is brilliant. I'm jealous! Great acting and love how the 2nd AC becomes part of the movie! It's all around just a great film and no joke, one of the funniest shorts I've ever seen. I've now said that twice... I know...

Can't wait to see what you guys cook up next.

Did I tell you I liked your movie??

I wish I could give you an 11...

Seriously, still laughing just thinking about this... and emailing a link for your film to tons of people...

word Geoff! thanks man i enjoyed yours also.
there's so many damn movies in this fest i'm gonna have to stay home all weekend and get it done! seventy-somethin'
:costumed-smiley-047 [<<< Yeah! i thought it was gone!]

MattinSTL: you're right -- for the record. thanks for the praise guys.
can't wait to start really watchin.

As Geoff said, brilliant concept. I loved the repetition and the way the shoot kept falling further and further into chaos.

This was very funny. Great editing and use of music.

Very well done.

thanks guys -- we just came home from 9 hrs of driving and about 4 hrs of shooting,:violin: and we were wonderin' what was happenin' on the lossfest tip.
again: can't wait to watch.

although this was a little over exaggerated (in a good funny way) you really captured the film making process. very well done, very funny.. lots of luck in the fest.

dug it a lot!

I thought your timing was generally spot on. Anytime i'd think...'man, this again'? you'd switch it up and get fresh. Really nice use of a simple set up. Great work!

COMEDY IN LOSS FEST!

Yup, good work here.

Maybe this should also be used in film schools to prepare would-be directors for some reality. Like the old 'stoned' stuff in the the 60s.

Really enjoyed the flick. Good acting. Sure love to see the bloopers on this one. There must have been some 'keep a straight face' challenges here.

Enjoyed it!

aw

Watched it again. Dont know why, but second run was better than first, and I thought the first was damn good. Still laughing. I love how you really took it all the way i.e. couch disappears, pissed myself.

alex: i'll see what i can do in the way of bloopers -- that would be a nice lil' addition to this thread. although i really can't remember too many offhand...
i'll make my big bruvva check.

thanks noel -- i was wondering how the 2nd time through for people would be.

...the weekend is Here. time to download...
