I often switch my camera between a hard case and a soft shoulder-sling bag, and apparently misplaced some accessories during the shift.
Most of them are things I don't really need/care about, like the USB data cable (standard size, got millions of them) and a plastic SD case, but one thing I can't seem to find is my AV cable for hooking up to an analog monitor.
Worst part is, I actually use this pretty often- not for a display, but rather for audio monitoring via the Magic Lantern hack and an adapter to go from L/R composite jack to headphone jack.
This is very annoying. I've been searching ebay for a replacement- I'm sure there are plenty of people who bought this camera who have no use for that plug!
Problem is, its such a specific kind of plug and it seems all the ones I'm finding are mostly not in stereo (just a yellow video feed and a black audio mono one), or asking a ridiculous amount of money for ($40?! Yeah right!).
Right about now would be a great time for some Chinese manufacturer to make cables to use for ML audio monitoring, so that we wouldn't even need the plethora of adapters tethered to this cable to make it work. But, that's probably unrealistic given how rare these cables seem to be in general- I'm assuming we ML users are such a minority that we're not even on their map!
But that would be great... meanwhile, does anyone have any ideas where I could get this cable replaced relatively inexpensively?
Or does anyone on the forum who bought such a camera not have a need for theirs?
Or... does anyone have any contacts in cheap overseas accessory production?
