General looking to buy a second camera

I already have a Canon T2i. I want to get another view of real time shots for music videos. I don't know what to get as a second camera. A 7D, 60D, or T2i? Any help would be great.

My current Setup:
Canon T2i stock lens & zoom lens
vLCD ViewFinder
4 batteries
1 Memory Card
Glidecam 4000 Pro

It depends... if you are just looking for another angle then get another T2i they are great !!..
if you want a more rugged and more features get the 7D, my choice if you are using external LCD monitor.
if you want to attempt to get non AGC audio , get the 60D. ( I still believe getting any of Canons to do decent audio is a pipe dream).
but for the price comparisons you'll get tons more by investing the money into another T2i and more glass than the feature differences among this batch of cams.

just my 2 cents

hope this helps.

I'd go for the Tokina 11-16 f2.8 if you need a wide. If you need a backup/second cam, you may wanna consider a GH2, as it can record for more time than your T2i. If you don't need the extended time, get another T2i or 60D. You'll be familiar with the operation of the camera, so you don't have to retrain yourself. Plus, all of your glass will work on either!

Also really depends on your budget. but I would and do own a 50mm 1.8 (cheap, round $100) which gives you great images. (if you plan on using a follow focus unit then try to find the older version, better built and better focus ring)
I would also add that wide tokina mentioned above. between those 2 and your kit lens you have a fairly good selection, of course the search for more lenses wont end, but those would make a good start.

there are tons of posts about lens selections where you can get more specific answers, because it really depends on what you are trying to achieve as to which lenses to get.

hope this helps.

I just traded up for a 60D - the tilt lcd alone makes it so much easier to use. Interestingly, Philip Bloom rates it a better dslr for video than the 7D, lo-res hdmi output being the only downside. I think a detailed review is forthcoming, so maybe hold off for a week or so..

Tokina or Canon will serve you well, which ever you chose constant aperture is the important factor as it will not step aperture as you zoom, don't under-estimate the kit lens its not phenomenal but no slouch either as long as you don't zoom on video... the 50 1.8 is AWESOME in low light.. look it up on youtube or vimeo.. you'll see...

the kit lens I use a lot actually but I looking for an ultra wide & this 50mm sounds great because I shoot a lot of club footage!

The 50mm isnt wide but looks great for low light. the kit lens is pretty wide with out going too fish eye but it isnt constant aperture, but if you need wider get the ultra wide or the tokina 11, as you may know the faster the lens the better the lowlight performance as well as shorter DOF. so depending on what youre after you find the balance that you need. again there are tons of threads on this subject by people that know a hell of alot more than me. but ultimately you need to figure out what youre trying to accomplish to find the right lenses. I would suggest looking at alot of vimeo or youtube, based on the lens recommendations and see which ones have the look you are after... a lot of people post their lens test shots when they get new lenses, so there is alot to take in and learn from. keep in mind the crop factor when comparing things shot with other than 7D or T2i.

I just bought the 50mm f1.8 lens. It seems great in low light. My next purchase will be an ultra-wide lens. Thanks for all the great help!
