I don't think those will do anything for weather-resisting your camera. Only getting less knicks on the exterior...if you're into rockclimbing or something. I've been doing video/photo for 20+ years and have really never got a major scratch on a camera body...but I don't shoot for National Geographic or anything.
I'd put the money towards a camera bag....an electric bill...or a weather resistant SLR if that's what I needed.
When shooting video (I'm a wedding videographer), I've found an umbrella works pretty well to keep rain off my GH1...and then I run inside as fast as I can. lol
I'm in the market too for some kind of case — but primarily for dust protection in my case, for a shoot in Togo. Any thoughts?
I'd also be very interested to hear if you know about a good bag/softcase that would seal out dust/humidity and hold a GH1 body, 6-8 lenses, H4N, mic, and a couple of batts... I'd rather have something more easily portable and less conspicuous than a pelican.
Thanks!
