T2i Looking for the longest, PARFOCAL canon mount zoom there is

Hey everyone,

I've been looking around between Canon, Tamron, and Sigma brands to find what I'm looking for.

I want to get a PARFOCAL zoom lens with the longest zoom range possible.

Obviously, f/2.8 would be nice, but the T2i's ISO gain is so clean, I could deal with an f/4 or 5.6 lens.

My biggest priority is getting 1) a parfocal lens (so that I don't have to refocus in critical moments when I'm going for closeups) and with 2) a good zoom range that can go from wide to at hopefully 100mm or more.

Any lens suggestions?

Thanks,
-Justin

I also found this list of Canon Lens specs. It tells if the lens is parfocal or not.

http://canon-eos.webuda.com/geraet/index.htm?/geraet/frames/lenses_af_canon_ef.htm

I am bookmarking that list and checking it. I can tell ya one thing.... they ain't gonna be cheap. Now this is just Canon lenses. I did not get a chance to check for other brands.

Odd, that second link David Smith posted lists the 24-105 f4L lens as Parfocal, which it is most certainly not.

If you want something with great optical performance and a great price, the parfocal Olympus Zuiko 35-70 F3.6 and F4.0 are worth considering with an OM-EOS adapter (though they don't break that 100mm focal length you want):

There is also a parfocal 70-150mm:

Though the rare glass fiend in me would prefer the Angenieux:
