GH2 Looking for guide to GH2 hacks

Hi, done some googling and strangely cant find any articles about hacking GH2. Is there one hack or are there several. Does it replace the firmware or bolt on (like Magic Lantern). Also what features are offered.

Have seen several places that say 'read this thread' but that is going to be a bit hit and miss. Hopefully there is something around like Magic Lantern and a decent website like the Magic Lantern one explaining stuff.

My main reason for wanting to find out about GH2 hacks is that I am thinking of getting a GH3 and want to find out the type of things I can expect (Focus Peeking is the first thing I need).

Thanks, so the hack tweaks camera settings rather than adding stuff. Is there a list of the things that can be tweaked anywhere?

From what I an see Focus Peeking is not something that is possible, guess I will have to stick with my 550D with Magic Lantern as it does not matter what the bit-rate is if the picture is not in focus;(.

On the other hand, it is entirely possible to focus without peaking. I do it all the time, and as a result I have a better image from my GH2 than is possible from a 550D.

There was a time, veiled in mists of history, when such marvels as focus peaking and autofocus did not exist. Those of us who lived in such "ancient" periods had no choice but to learn to focus.

But we had proper viewfinders (Generally Black and white CRTs)! The reason a lot of camera ops use peaking is viewfinders/screens are vastly inferior to pro git of a bygone age.

I would imagine it depends on lens/aptitude and how important pin sharp focus is. I have come across lots of people (including may proes) who want Peaking on the GH3 badly.
