I am looking for handheld solution for the GH2. I searched a lot before open this new post, and there are so many options I can't decide...

I thought about going with a shoulder mount , and the options in my budget (500-700$) are

this company use to have a 450$ package for both, but not more, now you have to buy both products seperated in the cost of 720$.

I am not a pro photographer, I shoot video art as one man production.
All I want is a good option to walk around with my camera and shoot handheld, focus follow is nice to have, MATT box is extra, I don't really need it, but its coming with the indi package, so....

And almost forgot, there is this options too

+++++1…..to above. I have recently put a rig together with the help of Brian Berkey owner of Berkey Systems. I first became aware of Berkey Systems through a fellow member "Stonebat" who also put together a "rig" from them and was extremely pleased with the results. Through the the exchange of information provided by Brian's personal touch with phone calls, emails with pictures of parts, videos of them put together until you find the exact set-up you want provided me with exactly what I needed for my mine. After receiving your rig and you find that you want to change your design you can mix and match and exchange parts until you get it exactly as you want. Owners of GH1 and GH2's should begin their assembly with the Mikro baseplate which allows you to exchange batteries without removing camera from rig. I should also mention that the quality of these products are "Second to None". Lastly I would like to put a disclaimer to this post: I do not work for Berkey Systems, am not related to the owner, am not connected in any way-I'm just a very satisfied customer.

Me too. He is local to me here in MN and I've had a chance to meet him once, but that's it.

Thanks but how that goes with 500-700$ :)

That starts with 1200$ and even not with FF...

How did you arrive at that figure? My rig is similar to the Editman Cage and also includes a shoulder/chest pad attachment and a few other accessories and it was under $800. :-)

shoot35.com

the guys at shoot35.com have put together some nice looking stuff at a decent price and you can pick what you want to get or choose a complete system.

I have purchased the Cowboy shoulder mount. It's good, especially for #30.00

Good luck, let us know what you finally decide to go with.

Thanks

I can't pay more than 700$ for rig only without FF.

Can someone help me construct somthing like this from Shoot 35 site? (no must to watch the video, there is a photo down the link)

adys, When/if you get around to looking a FF's check this out: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?242660-Chinese-Follow-Focus-with-hard-stops I purchased this and am completely satisfied with it. Probably the best FF on the market under $800. Also you might just give Berkey Systems a call . They might find a solution within your budget. Something that you can add on to in the future utilizing those parts that you already have or exchanging some of them for others.

barkley is made in china and it's not cheap. I would rather bite a bullet and go with zacuto. I don't trust those good looking rigs that fall apart after awhile.

Thanks, but I will not go with Zacuto that is for sure, I don't have this kind of budget, and am not a pro.

In my opinion Zacuto is expensive with out proportion.

gini rigs on ebay are nothing short of amazing quality for the price point. I cant figure out how they profit for the low prices they charge.

EDELKRONE was originally handy35, they build amazing rigs as well, but a bit higher priced, and for good reason. I used their rig for my last vietnam film (some gave all) and it worked perfect for tight shots of an interior huey heli. Kadir is a great customer support guy.

Thanks, but can you provide a link?
Ebay has only one product in the name of Gini rig...

http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570&_nkw=gini+rig

I really want to construct this configuration
http://dslrvideoshooter.com/cheap-20-dollar-rig-works-well-for-hdslr-work/

It has a list of parts, but I am not sure this is the best option...

The configuration I want to construct:

1. FF
2. Rods that will give me options to put handles
3. some plate that will give me option to connect it to the cowboy studio shoulder

So maybe I can get this one
http://cgi.ebay.com/DSLR-Follow-foc...ory_Bundles&hash=item41593d4488#ht_794wt_1139

But the rods look a bit short?
And will I need another plate to connect it like he did?

Or maybe this one is better?

Same product with more info
