I prefer 1080p, but will settle for 1080i.
All I can find are:
1) The new Sony HXR-MC2000U for ~$1750
2) The old Panasonic AG-HMC70PJU for ~$1750
3) The new Panasonic HDC-MDH1 (PAL ONLY) for ~$1170
Sadly, the MDH1 seems to be the best of the three (at least it's better than the Sony in this test) -- but it is not available in the US, as far as I can tell. Is there an NTSC model that I can't find? Or perhaps the earthquake has delayed the NTSC model? I would hate to think that Panasonic is intentionally keeping it off the US market to avoid cutting into TM700/900 sales
