GH2 Long Zoom Recommendation

I've recently brought along my GH2 to record events involving my 3yr old daughter. In each venue, the audience has been far enough from the stage that my kit 14-45 just didn't cut it for zoom.

I'm looking to buy something longer and would appreciate some guidance. I'm not a pro, so top of the line IQ isn't critical. More important is keeping it at $400 or less, and usability for video more than photo.

Should I go with the new X lens, or consider one of the older models?
 
The 45-200 is fine, I have the 100-300 but that's a bit above your budget. Both have very effective OIS that will allow you to shoot with a monopod from your seat.
