After about a year with the GH3, there's something that really bugs me: long exposure photos. Whenever I want to do a night-time timelapse, long exposures are key. With the GH3, any exposure longer than 1 second makes the display lag - sometimes, the image won't even appear until I press the shutter fully and take a photo. Even then, it takes the display a few seconds to catch up. With the Canon DSLR's, no matter what the shutter speed, the liveview is always real-time. It's the one thing I miss about my 60D.
This is extremely annoying, especially when I'm trying to frame up the shot for a timelapse - any subtle movements with the camera will not be recognized for a few seconds, so its next to impossible to frame a shot when using a shutter longer than one second.
The only work around for this, Ive discovered, is to just bump the shutter speed up to something like 1/25th, frame the shot as needed, lock the tripod/camera down, and change shutter back to desired speed. This is seriously annoying...
Has anyone else come across this problem?
