Log and Transfer FCP

Quick question...I'm importing video shot on a FS-100 Firestore drive that was recorded at 1080/24pA...now I know that I have to do a pulldown removal, but I was under the impression that I'd be given that option in the log and transfer window. Is this something that needs to be manually done or does FCP automatically recognize and remove the frames during the transfer?

The option is in the preferences drop down menu in the upper right of L/T if you haven't checked there.
