Locked Aperture Ring?

I hadn't used my A1 for a couple of weeks, and when I took it out of the backpack to get ready for a shoot, I found that the aperture ring no longer changes the F-stop. Is there any chance this is just a setting that I somehow enabled?

The camera works fine in Auto mode, adjusting to changes in lighting normally. After I reset the camera from the menu, the F-stop was set to 1.6, and when I zoomed in, the F-stop increased to 3.4 at full zoom, so it appears to be just a disconnect between the ring and the internals. The ring spins smoothly, without any trouble, and there haven't been any accidents that might have damaged the camera...

Anybody have any ideas?

I'm not sure I fully understand your question. But, just FYI, The aperture in the XHA1 is not fixed. The further you zoom in, the less you can open your iris.

I mentioned that zooming in changes the iris because it demonstrates that the iris is still working, even though the iris ring can't change it anymore. I can spin the ring freely, but the F-stop will simply flicker between 3.2 and 3.4. If I reset the camera from the menu, then the F-stop is stuck on 1.6 until I zoom in on something.

The camera works fine in Auto mode, so I was wondering if I somehow disabled the iris ring?

The focus and zoom rings both work fine, which is why it's hard to believe the iris ring has somehow broken.
