If nothing else you'll get professional sound and a good lesson at the same time.

MattinSTL said:You need to seperate the lav from the transmitter... Countryman is lav only (mic) and Tram is lav only (mic)... The Sennhieser G2 is the wireless set which is composed of transmitter and receiver.
I have Trams just because it's what everybody used for so many years, but I'm checking out (switching to) Countryman lavs now... not that the Trams don't sound good... maybe I just want a change and I never tell people to do something that I don't do... hence the Countryman suggestion.
Really ANY good lav will sound good... I wouldn't worry about that too much. I also use a Sennheiser MKE-2 lav and those are really high, but I don't even know that it's any better then the Tram... or even Countryman.
If you can afford the Countryman B6 you have the smallest lav in the world and you can hide it in plain site (the camera won't see it) and it still sounds good... that's why I want one.

The answers I'd give to a guy who says he just landed a series for the Discovery channel isn't the same answer I'd give to somebody who says they're brand new to audio for video. When somebody defines themselves in the opening post I think people need to pay more attention to those qualifiers before giving advice... and it will benefit not only the original poster, but others who come across the thread and are at that same level.
