GH2 Location scout footage

Looks awesome. I might actually break down and spend the cash for Film Convert. I have other ways to accomplish the same thing, but none of them render nearly as fast as FilmConvert does. It's so fast.

Yeah I'm satisfied. I like how subtle you can make it. It's not a tacky overlay, or just grain. You can make it obvious you're trying to make it look like a film stock, or you can tone it down until it looks really organic and unforced. Great thing about it is that it doesn't add any render time. At least when I've timed a render on my system with and without filmconvert there was no added time at all.

I use the standalone and it's still really fast.
My mac isn't the quickest, but it still zips though rendering.

Looks great....thanks for sharing .

Amateur question on "exposure".....when you set exposure for these clips, are you using the GH2 meter, or other. Did you expose to "0" or something lower and what film setting did you use?
Thanks,
Jeff

Well I don't expose with a meter, or "in camera" like I might with a Canon DSLR using Canon lenses. It's been so long that I've done anything like that, I'm assuming it adjusts aperture and ISO based on the meter setting.

What I do, is set my ISO at either 160 or 640 for everything, and since I use manual lenses that have aperture rings, I adjust aperture by stopping up as light decreases. So, during the day, I'll usually have it around F4 for just about everything. Then near dusk I'll stop up to 1.4 if my lens allows it, or just high as I can go. Then, finally I may go above 640 iso depending on what I'm shooting. More than 800 iso just looks crummy on the GH2, and not really worth shooting because of all the tiny ISO bugs that start to pop up.
