Lloydc presents ... "Wasted"

The stuff about Hitler came completely out of left field and I actually laughed because it felt so out of place with where she had been going.

Even though I really enjoyed this one (toward the top if not the top of my list), I do agree that the Hitler thing did come out of left field. I understand that her mind is wandering all over the place but I think it was a little too wandered. Just my opinion and that is the only thing that bugged me. I really liked this one and it inspires me to try and write something with more realistic dialogue... well, maybe after SpyFest:) .

It does I know.. irks me too a little bit, but it starts that whole thought process of being forgotten. Wish I could take it out. It was my first heavy "talking" movie, so wasn't certain how it would transpire in real life.

I absolutely loved the cinematography in your film, Jeremy. Looking forward to your Spyfest entry!

Okay, so I just read through this thread and I gotta say once again, why isn't a film like this getting more detailed attention? Now I understand a great deal of people think that drama has to be as strict as a three point lighting setup, but this film proves that wrong. It is not perfect. Neither is she.

The filmmaking is so tied into the main character that it rambles and wanders just like she would, given her state of mind. When I first watched it I found my impulse was to separate myself from her depressive life, but the brilliance is that her humor pulls you back in and softens the sadness that we feel watching her. Great performance from Andreea.

I understand the impulse of folks on this board to look for the high-gloss results we've come to expect from these cameras, but the rawness of the photography is the only way this film could've worked for me. Any additional polish would make it seem set-up and forced. Everything was consistent in it's edginess, in that way it had a nice flow of disarray (does that make any sense?).

This is in the top three for me! Thanks for sharing this with us. Hope to see more.

Glad you enjoyed the film, Finnian! I was always inspired by the rawness and "realistic" shooting styles of directors like Michel Gondry, Alfonso Cuaron, Alejandro Inaritu etc. But I also love the structured, more static stuff. I look forward to switch to whatever suits the script/scene and see how it comes out in future projects.

I have a really great idea for Spyfest I'm itching to write and I'm interested in seeing how this same shooting style will render out into a more thriller/drama (some comedy, because everything needs a touch of laughter) moody piece.

I was surprised by Andreea's performance because she's not an actress. I'd love to take some credit for her performance, but it was all her. She was wonderful and was great during production.

for all you stragglers, check out my film before it closes! I'd love some more feedback

my bet is 18 seconds will win :)

I thought your film was beautiful. The actress was excellent and I loved the circular nature of the story.

The only change I would suggest, would be to end it right after she repeats, "What did I do yesterday?"

Great film.
