C200: Live Stream From the Zoo With the Canon C200

A little write up about a remote live stream fundraiser I shot for the Los Angeles Zoo
with actor Joel McHale using the Canon C200, utilizing our VMix Call System 30 miles away back at our studio.
Our live stream helped the Zoo raise over a million dollars to keep all of the animals fed and well cared for during
the Zoo being closed and the staff employed, which definitely gave us the warm fuzzies ;-)

Enjoy!

Great write-up - thanks for sharing. Oh, but shouldn't the title of the thread be Live Stream from the Zoo, not from the Zoom?

Thanx for that - great read.

Thanks guys, it was refreshing just to get out of the house and shoot a job, any job. It was sweet working with a pro like Joel McHale and the clients were very nice too
so that's always a bonus. In the live stream thread in the Cafe', we've been talking about live streaming and what it takes, what the risks are and what a tight rope it is
doing work like this. It made me a little nervous that over a million dollars was on the line for me and my producing partner for this gig, that's why I hesitate to recommend
live streaming as a "lucrative" sideline for out of work video people.

The budgets are generally low, the pressure to succeed is exceedingly high. Even with the Zoo's IT department
at our complete disposal, there were a lot of configuration and reliability issues that we solved right before showtime. These issues
probably would not have been solved in time if my partner wasn't a genius webcast engineer. Without his knowledge and ability,
I never woulded have waded into the live stream space.
