Live recording with Live replay

Have a client that wants me to record a live event and be able to do live replays of the during the event on a imag/projector system.

I can get the imag/projector setup done. But being able to do the replays is the problem. I cant think of a phesible way of doing it.

Any ideas how I might go about this?

I presume there is a video mixer/switcher between the camera and IMag system?

Split the camera feed, send one signal direct to the switcher, and run the other signal through a DVR (think tivo...) this will allow you to timeshift the camera feed.

A little more info might be helpfull. Is the client looking for you to playback specific portions of the event later on in the event or just wants a video feed to a projector or are they looking for delay?

There are a number of way to do it but if they want specific portions of the event played back later on you'll need to capture the video stream to a computer or DVR in addition to the camera. A macbook with FCP would be my choice but then when your playing back you can't be capturing and vise-versa.

Maybe a macbook capturing to a NAS drive and another macbook editing and playing back. FCP can break files into 500 mb chunks that means every 3 min or so you'll have another file to work with.

I'm sure there is an easier way. Anybody
