Live preview through HDMI?

Hey Does anybody know if you can have live preview through the D90 or the Mark 2D
via HDMI.

Can you set it up to an HDMI monitor and see what you are shooting?
Does it still compress that signal?

Just thinking if it would be possible to capture live video through the HDMI to a Blackmagic Extreme card.
I know I can play back the the via HDMI but not sure about the live preview.

I have an Ikan HDMI monitor I use to monitor my d90. I can monitor just fine, but all the info also appears in the screen..I do not know if there is a menu function where all the displays dissapear
