I was looking for a camera to mainly do product review videos and other amateur videography for youtube. I found a used Canon XL2 on ebay and bought it. I have had it for a couple of months and just been to busy to play with it.
I pulled it out and started playing with it and noticed a setting was different than one of the videos I watched on youtube. That was the switch from 25p to 50i. I am know nothing about video cameras of film making. I noticed that was different from the 24, 30 and 60, I believe. Researched and found out I have the PAL version.
Anyway, I am in the US. Is this camera useless to me? Almost 100% of the time the videos will just be uploaded to youtube. I dont foresee ever making an actual physical tape type movie ever. Can I create, edit and upload these vids to youtube and have them look and feel just as good as the American version?
